Ghelmyon Footrace¶

Spectator racing with betting, four regulars, 3x payout
Ghelmyon Footrace

Find the racing track when it is open (mornings through dusk;
closed at night). Four regulars run every heat:

  Ironstrider - a brass automaton, fast but fades late
  Greenleap  - a broad-shouldered frog, slow starter, strong finish
  Quickpaw   - a sleek cat, explosive start, tends to fade
  Sgt. Harker - a disciplined guard, the same pace every lap

Commands:
  race / watch race          See the field and the current odds
  bet <amount> on <racer>    Stake gold and run the heat

A win pays 3x your stake, plus a small chance of a seasonal
prize item on top. This is a spectator sport: you bet on a runner,
you do not race yourself. (For playable athletic events, see the
signature sport of each other city - Darkhollow's Crucible
Gauntlet, Thornwood's Huntmaster's Trial, Millhaven's River Run
Regatta, Greenweald's Shepherd's Chase.)

Each of those runs on one command: stand at Darkhollow's Ember Forge,
Thornwood's Hunter's Camp, Millhaven's Riverside, or Greenweald's
Sunlit Clearing and type 'compete' (once per game-day, daytime only).
