How to speak, address NPCs, and use emotes

Talking - How to Speak in Ghelmyon

Ghelmyon uses a classic two-prefix speech grammar inherited
from TEC. Once you know the two prefixes you can talk to anyone.

Speak to the room (everyone here hears you):
  'hello                     -> You say, "Hello."
  'anyone got a torch?       -> You say, "Anyone got a torch?"
  say <text>                 verb form of the same thing

Speak directly to a named person (use their short name):
  "phae hello                -> You say to Phaedro, "Hello."
  "marta what's the stew?   -> You say to Marta, "What's the stew?"
  tell <name> <text>         verb form of the same thing

Whisper privately to someone close:
  whisper <name> <text>      whispered, only target hears

Tips:
  - Both prefixes use the QUOTE characters: ' is single quote,
    " is double quote. No space between the prefix and your text.
  - Short names work - "phae usually matches Phaedro,
    "mar matches Marta, "sis usually matches Sister Miriam.
  - If the person isn't at your location they won't hear you.
  - Asking a question that ends in ? often prompts a richer
    response from NPCs than a flat statement.

Emotes:
  smile, wave, bow, nod, shrug, grin, laugh - many more.
  smile                      You smile.
  smile <name>               You smile at <name>.
  emotes                     List all available emotes.

Slash-shorthand:
  /flirt <name>              Flirt with NPC (gates on rep tier)
  /joke <name>               Tell a joke
  /askout <name>             Ask them on a date
  /propose <name>            Marriage proposal (only at high rep)
