Class Capstones - Comparison

The rank-30 signature ability per class. The single class-defining "mastery beat" that fires once per long rest (or once per day). Hitting rank 30 in your unlock skill feels like an achievement because of these.

Each class article carries a deeper Capstone section with the strategic hook. This page is the side-by-side comparison: how the 13 capstones differ in cost, payoff, and when to spend them.

Per-day capstones (5) - recharge on a new dawn, regardless of rest:

Class Capstone Why per-day
Rogue Killing Blow Reflects assassin's window - a fresh moment of focus each day

Strategic notes

A few patterns experienced players use:

  • Stack the per-day capstones at dawn. Rogues, Mages, Tinkerers, and Monks who hit a tough fight in the morning can chain their signature beats hard.
  • Save the per-rest capstones for boss fights. Don't burn your Warrior's Unbreakable Stance on a wolf pack; save it for the named enemy at the end of the dungeon.
  • The Scholar's True Sight is a force-multiplier, not a damage cap. Use it BEFORE the fight; pair it with a party member who can act on the revealed weakness.
  • The Bard's Heroic Anthem rewards a long fight. 5 turns of +50% damage is the difference between a 10-turn fight and a 4-turn fight. Save it for the right one.
  • The Paladin's death-blow immunity is the kit's signature beat. The Paladin doesn't prevent the hit - they make the hit non- fatal. Spend it on the round the tank ally drops; the heal + immunity combo is the Paladin's identity.

Multi-class considerations

Capstones don't stack across multi-class characters in any way. Each character has exactly one capstone tied to their primary class. Skill investment in a secondary class's unlock skill doesn't unlock that class's capstone - the capstone is class- locked, not skill-locked.

A character who has Faith Magic at rank 30 from playing Cleric has Mass Restoration, even if they've also taken Paladin-flavored gear. The capstone follows the class, not the skill.

The exception: characters who change class mid-game (a rare narrative beat) inherit the new class's capstone and lose the old one. Cooldowns reset on the change.
