The wilderness corps. HQ'd in the Thornwood, not Ghelmyon - you'll have to travel to make your case. Rangers + Hunters live here.

The Thornwood longbow at honored is one of the best ranged weapons in the game - significantly outclasses the standard hunting bow.
How to gain rep (generic)¶
- Travel to Thornwood. You can't earn Ranger rep from Ghelmyon alone. Visit the Lodge.
- Hunt beasts. Wolves, dire boars, owlbears - bounty-style kills posted at the Lodge.
- Patrol contracts. Multi-day wilderness routes; pay rep + gold.
- Recover lost rangers. Quest line: find missing patrols, return evidence.
- Forage + report. Bringing rare herbs / animal sightings counts.
How to lose rep (avoid these)¶
- Poaching protected species (Thornwood elk, ancient stags)
- Setting forest fires
- Helping the Wild Coven (rangers respect them but coven-aligned questlines burn rep)
- Aiding loggers / clearcutters
- Cruelty to wilderness animals
Rivals to watch¶
No major rivals. The Rangers + Temple ally (+25%) and otherwise operate semi-independently. Even the Pale Order doesn't directly oppose them - different domain.
When the rep is worth it¶
Mandatory for Ranger. The Thornwood longbow + beast lure unlocks are central to the class arc.
Strong for Wanderer if you're outdoors-leaning. The Lodge has the only wilderness fast-travel network in the game.
Useful for Herbalist - friendly rep gets you access to the Thornwood's rare-herb grounds.
Skip if you never leave Ghelmyon.
