Temple of the Dawn¶
"The temple serves the faithful and combats undead. Smite the unholy and aid the clergy."
The dominant religious institution in Ghelmyon. Healers, exorcists, paladin auxiliaries. Friendly to Rangers, allies with Town Guard, sworn enemies of the Pale Order.

How to gain rep (generic)¶
- Donate at the altar. Direct rep purchase - every gold counts.
- Quest with priests. The Temple's quest chain runs deep (cleric apprentice → exorcist → anointed).
- Smite the unholy. Killing undead while a priest is nearby passively gains rep.
- Use temple services. Each heal you pay for is a tiny rep bump.
- Attend services. Daily prayers + temple-restday observance (small but stacking).
How to lose rep (avoid these)¶
- Casting necromancy anywhere near a temple member
- :material-mask: Selling religious artifacts to non-Temple buyers
- Disrupting services
- Building Pale Order rep (−75% - instant tank)
- Defacing temple property
Rivals to watch¶
- Pale Order - the only −75% tension in the game. If you're building any rep with Pale Order, your Temple rep dies fast.
- Wild Coven - neutral but uneasy; both view the natural world differently.
When the rep is worth it¶
Mandatory for Cleric + Paladin. Their entire kit gates on Temple-trained spells + ranks.
Strong for Monk - the monastery wing of the Temple has specialized monk training.
Useful for Herbalist - Temple hospice has steady healing-shift work + buys medicinal herbs at premium rates.
Skip only if you're running Necromancer - the antagonism is load-bearing for that arc.
