Blocking choice scenes — guard arrests, ambushes, trials, story events

Events & Confrontations

Sometimes the world forces a decision. A guard blocks your
path, bandits spring an ambush, or a citizen accuses you of a crime.
When this happens, normal commands are blocked — you MUST
choose from the numbered options before play resumes.

HOW IT WORKS:
  1. A scene is described with context and stakes.
  2. Numbered choices appear. Some may be greyed out
if you lack the gold, skill, or stats required.
  3. Type a number (1, 2, 3...) or keyword to choose.
  4. Your choice plays out — combat, skill check, dialogue.
  5. Normal play resumes.

COMMON EVENTS:
Guard arrest — Surrender, fight, flee, bribe, talk
Ambush — Fight, surrender, flee, intimidate, pay
Accusation — Deny, confess, deflect, intimidate
Story scenes — Custom choices for quests and story arcs

GREYED-OUT CHOICES:
Some options require gold, stats, or items you don't have.
These appear dimmed with a reason (e.g. 'Not enough gold').
You can see what you COULD do if you had the right stats.

SKILL CHECKS:
Choices may show a skill hint like '(Agility 40)'.
This means the game rolls against that stat to determine
success or failure. Higher stats = better odds.

TIMEOUTS:
Some events have a timer. If you don't choose in time,
a default action is selected automatically.
