Analyze (Scholar Combat Verb)

Analyze (Scholar Combat Verb)

Scholar-only combat debuff — study enemies for weaknesses

Analyze — Scholar Combat Verb

Usage: analyze <target>

Scholar-exclusive combat action. Study an enemy mid-fight
to reveal weaknesses and boost your damage.

How It Works:
  1. INT + Appraise skill check vs DC 10 (Scholar bonus)
  2. Success: 'Exposed Weakness' — next attack gets +15% damage
  3. Critical (margin 20+): 'Studied' — ALL attacks get
     +10% damage for 3 rounds
  4. Failure: wasted turn, but you learn about the creature

Bonuses:
  - Scholar class: -20 DC (Analytical Mind passive)
  - Book in inventory: -5 DC
  - Known bestiary creature: -10 DC

Bestiary:
First successful analyze of a creature type adds it
to your Scholar's Bestiary (read bestiary to view).
Known creatures are easier to analyze next time.

Rules:
  - Scholar class only (other classes cannot use this)
  - Must be in combat
  - Can only analyze each target once per fight
  - Costs one combat action (like an attack)
  - INT scaling: higher Intelligence = slightly higher bonus
